These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of:
- Intelexta Validator at
https://validator.intelexta.com - Intelexta Verifiable Summary (ChatGPT app / MCP server) at
https://api.intelexta.com/mcp - Any related websites, apps, and services that link to these Terms
- Any related websites, apps, and services that link to these Terms
(collectively, the “Services”), operated by Gauge Freedom, Inc., a California Benefit Corporation (“Gauge Freedom”, “we”, “our”, or “us”).
By accessing or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
1. Overview of the Services
Intelexta provides a control plane for AI-assisted work, including:
- Running integrity analyses on text and documents.
- Generating Intelexta AI Integrity Reports and Content-Addressable Receipts (CARs).
- Tracking how a given artifact was processed (“what was checked, when, and how”) to support auditability, reproducibility, and responsible AI use.
- The Verifiable Summary app generates summaries and downloadable cryptographic proof bundles (CAR ZIPs) for later verification.
The Services are experimental and may change, break, or be discontinued at any time.
2. Eligibility
You may use the Services only if:
- You are at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country). If you are under 18 years old (or the age of legal majority where you live), you may only use the Services with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian, and
- You have the legal authority to accept these Terms on your own behalf or on behalf of an organization.
By using the Services, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.
3. Accounts and Sign-In
You may access the Services:
- As an anonymous user (limited features, “community mode”), or
- As a signed-in user via Google or other supported providers, or via email/password.
- Some Services (e.g., Validator) may use accounts; Verifiable Summary may be used without an account.
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
- Restricting access to your account and devices
- All activities that occur under your account
You agree to promptly notify us at https://www.intelexta.com/contact/ if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
4. Your Content and License to Us
“Content” means any text, documents, prompts, metadata, or other material you submit to the Services.
You retain all ownership rights in your Content. These Terms do not transfer ownership.
By submitting Content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license (with the right to use our service providers) to:
- Process, analyze, and transform the Content in order to:
- Run integrity checks and LLM analysis
- Generate Integrity Reports, CARs, and related outputs
- Display results back to you in the UI
- Store the Content and outputs as needed to:
- Maintain reproducibility and audit trails
- Provide history of your validation runs
- Improve reliability and performance of the Services (e.g., debugging)
The Integrity Report is the human-readable analysis; the CAR is the machine-verifiable record of the run.
We may also generate aggregated or de-identified data derived from your usage (for example, statistics on validation volumes and typical scores and tuning our internal integrity scoring models), and we may use that data indefinitely for research, analytics, training our internal AI models, or product improvement, provided it does not reasonably identify you.
You represent and warrant that:
- You have all rights necessary to submit the Content and grant the above license.
- Your Content and use of the Services do not violate any law or third-party rights (including confidentiality and intellectual property rights).
5. AI-Generated Output and Limitations
The Services rely on large language models and other AI systems. These systems:
- May produce incorrect, incomplete, or misleading information.
- May reflect biases or limitations in the underlying training data and models.
- Do not have access to all facts or context about your work, institution, or journal.
Accordingly:
- Integrity Reports, CARs, integrity scores, and explanations are best-effort analyses, not guarantees of factual accuracy, originality, or compliance.
- You remain fully responsible for:
- Verifying the content and conclusions of your work,
- Ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and policies (e.g., academic integrity, journal rules, grant requirements).
The Services do not provide legal, academic, medical, or other professional advice.
6. Public Proof Links (Sharing)
Some features allow you to publish a public proof link for a validation run.
- Public proof links are accessible to anyone who has the link.
- Public proof links contain a sanitized snapshot and receipt metadata and do not include raw artifact text.
- If you “unshare” a proof link, we remove public access going forward. However, recipients may have already saved copies (e.g., screenshots or downloads), and third-party caching beyond our control may persist.
- If you share a bundle download link, others may be able to download it while it remains available.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Services to violate any law or regulation.
- Submit Content that is:
- Illegal, harmful, defamatory, or fraudulent
- Infringing or misappropriating intellectual property or privacy rights
- Confidential or proprietary information that you are not authorized to disclose
- Attempt to reverse engineer, probe, or bypass any security or quota mechanisms.
- Use automated means (bots, scripts, scrapers) to access the Services without our prior written permission.
- Misrepresent AI-generated output as human-only work where such misrepresentation would violate rules applicable to you (e.g., academic or institutional policies).
- Interfere with or disrupt the Services or the networks and systems supporting them.
You agree that you are solely responsible for inspecting the contents of any CAR Bundle (including checking if include_source was enabled) before sharing it publicly. Gauge Freedom is not liable for confidential data you voluntarily bundle and share.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or are using the Services in a way that creates risk for us or other users.
8. Quotas, Limits, and Changes
We may apply usage quotas and rate limits, including:
- Per-tier monthly validation counts (Flash / Deep / Journal)
- Token or character limits per request
- Per-IP rate limits for anonymous users
Billing period behavior (paid plans):
- Upgrade starts immediately: If you upgrade to a paid plan, a new billing period starts immediately and your usage counters reset immediately to the new plan limits.
- Cancellation: If you cancel, your subscription will not renew. You keep paid-plan access and limits until the end of the current billing period, then your plan becomes Free and Free limits apply.
- Renewal: At renewal, usage counters reset for the new billing period.
We may change quotas, limits, and plan offerings over time. Where practical, we will provide notice of material changes via the Services or email. We reserve the right to delete validation history and data for inactive free accounts after a prolonged period of inactivity, with notice provided to the email on file.
9. Payments and Subscriptions (Third-Party Billing)
Payments and subscriptions are processed by third-party providers (e.g., Lemon Squeezy and its payment partners). Your purchase may also be governed by their terms.
Unless otherwise stated at checkout, subscription fees are charged in advance and renew automatically until canceled. Taxes may apply.
Refunds: All fees are non-refundable.
10. Organization Features
If organization features are enabled (e.g., projects, org dashboards), organization admins may be able to view org-level analytics and metadata about validations created within that organization (for example: counts over time, average scores, project breakdown). We do not provide organization admins access to raw artifact text through dashboards by default.
11. Third-Party Services
The Services integrate with third-party providers, including but not limited to:
- Google Cloud / Vertex AI
- Google AI Studio / Gemini API
- Firebase (Auth, Hosting, Firestore)
- Other providers we may add in the future
Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party services, even when accessed through our interface.
12. Intellectual Property
Except for your Content, all materials in the Services, including:
- Software, user interfaces, designs, logos, trademarks, and documentation
- The Intelexta CAR schema, our validation workflows, and related tooling
are owned by Gauge Freedom or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Services solely for your own permitted purposes under these Terms.
You may not:
- Copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the Services,
- Use our trademarks or branding without our prior written consent.
13. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Services are provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including but not limited to:
- Warranties of merchantability,
- Fitness for a particular purpose,

Without limiting the above:
- We do not warrant that Integrity Reports, CARs, or integrity scores will be accepted by any institution, journal, funder, or third party.
- We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
You use the Services at your own risk.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- Gauge Freedom and its officers, directors, employees, contractors, and affiliates will not be liable for any:
- Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages,
- Loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunities,
- Even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Services or these Terms will not exceed the greater of (i) USD $100 or (ii) the total amount you have paid to us for the Services in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability; in those cases, the above limits apply only to the extent permitted by law.
15. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Gauge Freedom and its officers, directors, employees, contractors, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to:
- Your use of the Services,

Upon termination:
- Your right to access the Services will cease.
- We may retain or delete your Content and account data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law.
